DOORS Citrix System Reqs

The DOORS Doco gives details for hardware specs when installing DOORS client locally.

It also advises required version of Citrix XenApp.

It does not seem to have details on recommendations on how to deploy DOORS on Citrix in terms of how to configure the citrix farm resources and how many machines in the Citrix farm to deploy DOORS onto.

Are there any documented recommendations on optimising a Citrix deployment for the DOORS client?

I found some tips here but Citrix is becoming the default method for enterprise deployments so some more detailed recommendations on tuning and deployment config would be useful.

This technote has recommendations for the DOORS Client/Server connectivity.

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21324458

It says latency <50ms

There is no recommendation for bandwidth but I would guesstimate 500Kilobytes/second would be about the slowest that would work. i.e. a 5 Megabyte module would open in about 10 seconds. Anybody have any recommendations on bandwidth?

It would be useful if there were specs for network connectivity between the Citrix server and receiver for DOORS.

This may seem like it is not a DOORS issue but a Citrix issue but then DOORS is quite an old architecture application so it may have special requirements over more modern applications when it comes to being served via Citrix.

is your Doors Database Server in the same location as your Citrix XenApp server.    IBM recommends a response time of less than 50 milliseconds between the client and the database server.

I raised a support query with IBM.

50ms is the recommended minimum latency.

There is no recommendation for bandwidth.

There are no recommendations for Citrix bandwidth or latency.
